Were We Brothers?, Paris

I was about to photograph the old man on the right, from the window of my apartment in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, when, at the moment of triggering, the second man appeared in my field.

The similarities between these two men were as striking as their differences. The first one, visibly on the fringes of society, dressed in old clothes, with a dirty beard, his gaze lost in his loneliness, contrasts completely with the second one, well-dressed, with a dazzling white beard, stepping forward decided, his smartphone headphones on his ears.

You could think of two brothers. Or two versions of the same character, in two parallel universes.

 

J'étais sur le point de photographier le viel homme de droite, de la fenêtre de mon appartement dans le 19ème arrondissement de Paris, quand, au moment de déclencher, le second homme est apparu dans mon champ. 

Les ressemblances entre ces deux hommes étaient aussi frappantes que leurs différences.  Le premier, visiblement en marge de la société, vêtu de vieux vêtements, d'une barbe sale, le regard perdu dans sa solitude, contraste totalement avec le second, bien habillé, la barbe d'un blanc éclatant, avançant d'un pas décidé, ses écouteurs de smartphone sur les oreilles.

On pourrait croire à deux frères.  Ou à deux versions du même personnage, dans deux univers parrallèles.
